Special classroom visit changes course of Abilene teacher’s life
Pat Sweeney’s life dramatically changed back in 1963 when a high school psychologist asked her to visit a classroom of special needs children. “Back then we had children who were physically disabled, and visual and hearing impaired,” she said. “Then we had just the educable retarded and trainable.
