Has anyone taken an ADHD test before? What does it consist of and why does it take so long?

My doctor suggested that I take an ADHD test and referred me to a testing site. My testing date is in a couple weeks. They told me that it should take 4-6 hrs to complete and that seems like a really long time. I don't know how I'm going to sit through a test that takes that long.
