Can anyone give me some good studying tips for a person with ADHD?
I have ADHD, and currently not taking medication. I am really behind in school and get anxious when I start working. I don't understand a lot of the material and I usually give up pretty quick. How do I force myself to do it? I'm going to fail and every time I try my anxiety just goes through the roof. I can't take medicine because I metabolize it too quickly and it doesn't even help. (120 mg concerta)

My 9 year old neighbor was diagnosed with ADHD after extensive testing when he was 5. He starts fires in the house at 2 AM when everyone's asleep. He's all scarred up from setting himself on fire. My friend who taught for 20 years says that the field of teaching has changed. What are ways to curb the behavioral problems in children with adhd without medications?
My son was seen by specialist and does not complete all the symptoms of adhd. He has only half, but this does not make dealing with his oppositional behaviors everyday any less difficult. He undergoes occupational therapy and sees a child psychiatrist as well as a develomental pediatrician. Should you give your child a break from her ADHD medicine in the summer?
Her doctor is telling us she won't prescribe her the ADHD meds during the summer but both parents feel this is not in her best interest.

i am going to a psychiatrist tomorrow. basically im about to be diagnosed with adult ADHD. i am just wondering what does ADHD medicine do? does it change you as a person or are you still the same, only you can pay better attention in school?

After ten years of medication for depression, PTSD and ADHD how do I know when I can start reducing meds?
After ten years of medication for depression, PTSD and ADHD how do I know when I can start reducing meds? My doctor says due to my progress it is time but is up to me. I have been totally stable for several months. My doc says it is up to me what should I do? I take high doses of a lot of meds and dont want to damage my organs from high dosages of various scripts if I do not have to. Any thoughts?

I am a writer and I have ADHD. I have lots of stories in my head. How do I choose which to write?
I am a published writer (fiction and non-fiction); I also have ADHD. I get about five story ideas a day. I want to write all five but I obviously can't. I finally tried a strategy where I start writing one on a yellow pad, then when one story takes the forefront, I just draw a line under what I've been writing and start the next story, then go back to the first or ahead to the third -- in other words, I just follow my thought process. This seems to work ok, but is there a way for me to stick
