How do you discipline a 5 year old who has ADHD or Aspergers?

My five year old is currently on a waiting list for an Aspergers evaluation or the doctor said it may also be ADHD because a lot of the symptoms overlap. I don't know how to discipline him. Nothing seems to work very well. I don't want to hold him to too high of expectations if he is physically unable to comply but of course I don't want to let him get away with stuff that he should be able to do.
